Problem Overview
How might we streamline the parking permit purchase process for CSUN students so that it is more convenient, time-efficient, and technologically accessible?
Problem Statements
Based on AChecks, a web accessibility checker, Urth Caffe was found to have one known problem and fourteen possible problems. To summarize, the website can make improvements on readability, keyboard controls, navigation, and seizure avoidance.
PROBLEM #1
Alex, a busy commuter, needs a way to purchase parking permits quickly because he finds it frustrating to stop at a kiosk before heading to class.
PROBLEM #2
Jasmine, a part-time student, needs a way to find flexible permit options because she doesn’t always need to be on campus for long periods of time.
Hypothesis Statement
We believe that by creating an app to purchase permits and find parking availability for CSUN students, we will achieve a less stressful, efficient parking experience. We will know this to be true when we see more students download the app and satisfied with their parking experience.
Process
User Flow
I mapped out the user flow to have a better understanding of the possible structure of the app.
Low Fidelity Wireframes
Creating low fidelity wireframes helped me flesh out the structure of the app. At this stage, I focus on functionality and flow over visual details.

Mid Fidelity Wireframes
Creating mid fidelity wireframes helped me flesh out the of the content of the app. This stage helps me adjust the layout to fit important elements.
